Experience at ECSC 2024

It has been a long time since the last post. Even though i have not been uploading any writeups, I have been participating in CTFs and learning a lot. While I was at it I also participated in the European Cyber Security Challenge 2024. After a long selection process, in which I had to compete against wonderful people from all over Spain, I was selected to represent Spain in the ECSC 2024. The competition was held in the beautiful city of Turin, Italy. The experience was amazing, I met a lot of people and learned a lot. I am very grateful for the opportunity and I hope to be able to participate in the next edition. I will try to upload some writeups of the challenges I solved during the competition.

The Competition

The competition took place at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin, Italy. The competition was held from the 8th to the 11th of October. The competition was divided into two days, one in a jeopardy style CTF and another one the next day in Attack-Defense style, with both duration being 8 hours. The competition was very challenging and I had a great time.

After the competition, in which we managed to finish in 13th place, we had the opportunity to visit the city of Turin. Since we did not have much free time, we could only visit the Mole Antonelliana. What we did have time for was to eat a lot of pizza and pasta, which even though it was delicious, it started to get a bit heavy after eating it non-stop for 4 days. Either way, I had a great time and I hope to be able to participate in the next edition of the competition.
